Yeah, I'm still all about Kate. Had a weird confrontation about the whole "ignoring me" thing. Honestly don't know what to believe on that front.
Saw her again last Friday. We got together for King Kone and Riverwalk. That was nice and fun, she gave me a lot of good laughs with some new stories and she seemed to think the new developments in my gaming thing were pretty awesome, even though she hates video games. After Riverwalk we stopped in at Fody's for a drink and just chatted over a beer. So that was fun. She had plans in Nashua that night, to hang with Mike again. Pretty sure they were involved in one of those ways where Kate won't outwardly commit and pretty sure Mike was another one of those guys who used that as an excuse not to care too much. In any case, she didn't know where Penuche's was so I walked her over to it and thought I might stop in to see if Kevin was there (it's "his" place, even if it is kinda lousy). He wasn't, but Kate asked me if I wanted to stay a bit anyway. Of course I said yes. Hung out with her and Mike and all his pals, but mostly just her and Mike. Almost half of everything he said were "playful" jabs at her, but it just kept going on and on that it struck me as just being downright mean. I don't know if that's what caused it, but not too long after he ended up pissing her off. I don't know if it was something he said or his general attitude, but he clearly didn't get it. Kate hugged him goodbye and then stormed out of there as quickly as she could, cursing him when he was out of earshot and telling me she needed to be alone, speeding off in her car. When I got to my car I drew a little turtle thanking her for coming out that night in spanish. Haven't received a response on that. I hope it's just because she's bad at responding. I'm not gonna worry about it anymore though.
On a bizarre note, after that night things have been looking up on a lot of fronts. I've been getting back into the swing of sales at Best Buy, and my game dev team is making serious progress on a lot of fronts. I'm starting to get into the habit of grocery shopping again. I got to have a real good heart to heart with one of my coworker pals, Ashlynd, last night, where we chatted about how messed up a lot of things in our lives are but how we've been able to make what we can out of it and pick ourselves up off the proverbial floors of depression and civil unrest and poverty and all that sad jazz. The past bunch of days have been quite sunshiney and lovely. And... GAME PROGRESS! On so many different fronts.

So I released
Happiness! last month. I don't remember if I posted about it. Pretty exciting though. What's also exciting is that we might be getting reviewed and interviewed by
Australian Retro Gamer. We also might be guests on an episode of the
Geeks With Wives podcast in mid May. So that's really exciting! Plus, work is finally going really heavy on
Revahlen, which is making me happy. I'm still making the base mechanics but they're coming along really nicely. I also made
a pretty lengthy blog post on the making of Happiness as well. Give it a read if you're feeling inclined.
I'm pretty damn excited to be honest. Not making money right now but starting to make a name. The future is starting to look a little brighter.
