Before answering machines and "missed calls" messages, were people able to fool themselves into beliving a whole bunch of people had called while they were out and therefore they were popular and loved?

me too, but atleast now you can see if theyve called or not and call them back or they can leave a message....if they call the cellphone that is.. damn i havent activated my voice mail on my phone, maybe i should. meh noone calls me anyway
