Yeah apparently they've gone fucking nuts since the guy tried to bomb the plane recently.
It's ridiculous, apparently you can't listen to music or play with any handheld devices while on the plane now. And you can't go to the bathroom during the last hour of the flight.
well I'm still gonna take a bamboo one I think, stick it in the handheld and its not going to show in xray.
After that.. I has plan of extreme cunning.
Found on a website :
"Back to the compact umbrella. No Londoner is without one, nor should you be. Not because of rain, but rather it is the easiest way to carry your needles without rousing suspicion. See in the picture above it is just a jumple of lines. Now add some further inocuous lines in the form of bamboo needles and who could tell?
The key is to take your knitting off the needles and onto scrap yarn. Fold the needles neatly into the umbrella. Reassemble once you‘re safely on board. And if you get someone who needs to inspect everything and raises an eyebrow… explain that it’s a great place to ensure your needles don’t get broken in transit. "
I like this plan a lot.
plus i like rebelling against the nanny state with old yarn crafts!
Bloody mental! I got away with knitting to Barcelona but thay was over a year ago. I'd go mad if I couldn't knit on a 8 hour flight...more likely to end up a terorist from lack of knitting calm!
