the ideals enshrined in the societal framework of the United States, while currently not as well served as might be, are that much better than, say, the ideals enshrined in the societal framework you get by enacting Shar'ia law.

I read a few articles, some time ago, by different authors who were trying to propogate Shar'ia law and arguing that it was fair and beneficial for women. They scared me. You know, when the people who favor an idea can't present it in a way that's remotely appealing it can't be good. O_O
Yeah... the notion of you, or Zimara, having anything resembling my definition of 'safety' and 'sanity' (which are admittedly skewed) in a Shar'ia society is ... ludicrous (laughable was my first choice, but it ain't bloody funny)
