Is it a standard log file (timestamp, computer-generated message, etc)?
You could translate strings and then do a find and replace.

But since you refer to page and section... I'm guessing it's human-generated?

No, no. It's a computer generated joblog, however, I cannot simply use find and replace because there are endless types of error messages which might have occured so using a standard word-switch won't cut it, especially for these translations (Japanese) which are not symmetrical with English grammar.

I could take a look at a sample of it for you if you'd like. You're going from English to Japanese, right?

Actually, this log is in Japanese. The senior analyst in Singapore is already taking this problem, so I'm just needed for translation, not for the analysis. So, unless, my "anonymous" friend, your Japanese language skills exceed those of mine, I'm afraid there is nothing you can do to help me.
