That's different. Most people want to know what is going on.

We're all trying to return to our homes.

Knowing vhat is going on vhon't be very helpful if vhe lack zhe ability to change it. Besides, I know zhe gist. Vhe heff been kidnapped und transported to zhis town called Mayfield for no discernible reason except to be driven slowly mad vith boredom un annoyance.

Well, then. You seem completely informed.

You know, your accent is familiar. Where are you from?

Germany.

[He doesn't feel the need to be specific or say anything about 'bases' at the moment -- he knows no women who know about the teams, and therefore Olivier doesn't get the benefit of knowing that he's on one.]

Und yet I notice zhat, according to zhose I heff spoken to, novhone can figure out a vhay to leave. Does entering zhis town somehow damage vhone's IQ?

IT IS OKAY things happen <3 buildstherobots May 31 2010, 17:52:45 UTC
Absolutely not. I happen to be a genius.

The town keeps people from escaping. It's not as easy as driving down the road and leaving.

Oh really? Is zhere some sort of force-field? Or is it just a very high fence?

[Medic is in a bad mood, and when he's in a bad mood, he gets snippy and sarcastic...er than usual.]

I suppose zhe only vhay out is to die, ja, or somezhing romantic like zhat?

[He sighs over the phone. Going over the same thing over and over again tends to grate on his nerves a little bit but he pushes it back and speaks.]

You are in a town called Mayfield. I can give you the abridged version of events if you would like.

I heff already been told as much, danke. Vhat I vhant to know is vhy novhone has managed to find a vhay out yet.

[It's sort of starting to bother him -- the 'we haven't found a way out' 'you're trapped', over and over and over, just as much as repeating the Welcome Speech must grate on Ichabod.]

I heff very important things to do zhat I cannot do vhile I am here, separated from my equipment und notes.

There is an escape plan in the works though it will take some time to gather the information to put it together. I have not given in nor given up in my search.

Believe me when I say that you are not the only one to suffer a lack of equipment. I too am separated from mine though I make due with what I have through the adaptation process which has proven beneficial.

[And he understands Medic's pain very well. He's still missing a lot of his things as well, especially his uniform.]

Vhat sort of information do you need?

[At last, someone who is at least actively trying to get out. Thank goodness.]

Vhile I may not heff my journals und notes vith me, I can alvhays pick up a new line of research should it prove beneficial.

[To him, that is. If you want him to help you gather research, Ichabod, you'll have to appeal to the mad scientist in him and make him want to do it for himself, no you.]

[Ew, a Scout. Ewwww.]

Vhy vhould anyvhone vhant to kidnap you?

[Implicit in this statement is that nobody would want him back. Except maybe his mother.]

Just zhis morning. I already deeply dislike zhis place.

[More so because you're here, you overly-energetic imbecile!]

Do zhey force-feed you pancakes every day? Is zhis standard procedure?

[Another person. Using these ridiculous mechanisms. Truly, this town is more He begins with the first things that the town said when he arrived.]

You are in Mayfield...[he pauses as he tries to remember] America. Apparently, one cannot leave the town - it is 'relooping'. [you can practically hear the quotation marks around the word.]. A large number of us have been kidnapped from our places. I have not had the misfortune to encounter whoever is in charge of this place, but apparently if you do something not to his liking he will temporarily wipe you of your personality. [there's a vague noise of disgust.]

So I heff been told, ja.

[This man sounds like English isn't his first language. Then again, Medic and his atrocious accent have no room to talk about that.]

Vhere are you from, exactly?

[AH THE SMELL OF HYPOCRISY Medic. At least it's not CHINGLISH. ...actually that hasn't even be invented yet by his time. Well you sound just as funny, and the Emperor is slightly skeptical on his end.]

China. Yes, this place does take people from all over the world. And apparently, different times.
