This and That ... Tit for Tat

Nov 05, 2012 22:54

Since I haven't posted on here since August 17 (yikes!), I think it's safe to say that I've officially dropped off the grid as far as LJ is concerned. It's weird how something can be such a huge, huge part of your life and then ... I dunno. It just isn't anymore. I can't think of any good reasons for this. Basically, life is busy and strange and ( Read more... )

I'm glad to see you even if it is only briefly. I'm sad I've lost almost all my LJ friends to other things at this point, but I understand how life suddenly changes like that sometimes. I've checked out your other blog from when I saw it on FB too, I hope it becomes a positive outlet for you. :)

Good luck for NaNo! I hope you manage to get the wheels turning and running smoothly!

FB has drawn a lot of people away, I think. It's so much easier to keep up with folks over there -- well, to a certain extent. (I have been thinking, recently, that FB and I need to break up for a while -- LOL!) But it's also just life is too busy. And, for me, my LJ became a negative place in many respects. I wanted to change that, which is why I opted to start a new and different kind of blog.

Thanks for the good words on the new blog, too! So far, it has been a good and positive outlet. I hope it continues to be that way.

Ugh. NaNo ... I'm soooo far behind. Not sure if I'll make the word count this year, but I'm telling myself that it's a good thing for me, even if I don't.

I totally understand the negativity thing, sometimes it is hard to come back from that without making a new start. I don't really use my LJ as a social networking tool, so facebook isn't really a good alternative for me. I use it as one part my personal diary and one part life scrapbook and that sort of thing just doesn't work there. Not to mention I'm a really poor social networker in general. I am happy to see your updates when I do check in there though :)

Last time I tried NaNo I got nowhere near the word count, but I found writing after such a long time was an overall positive experience and trying for the word count really helped my motivation level. Good Luck! *hugs*

I keep meaning to do NaNoWriMo, but real life always gets in the way. -_-
Good luck! And try the Snowflake Method if you get stuck.

November really is the WORST month for NaNo. There is just too much going on in this month to concentrate well on writing. (Or on writing well -- LOL!) Snowflake method ... hmmmm. I'm going to have to check that out. :D

I had a reply written in my head. . . but I got sidetracked before I could post it. ^^; I kept thinking there were posts I wanted to make. . . sidetracked again. It doesn't help that there are so many holidays so close together (whether I actually mean to participate in them or not). Drift happens too, I suppose. Maybe it's better than being stuck in the same place (like I seem to be ^^;).

At any rate, you'll probably get better input on a site that seems to attract writers and other creative types. Or at least that's always been my impression on Wordpress. . . but I could be completely wrong. ^^;; I hope you have fun with it and that you can get what you need! ^__^

*HUGS*
