Wedding Day.

Nick couldn't believe the day was finally here, his wedding day. That last few days had been insane with his family all coming in, along with Anna's family. Everyone was buzzing around, and the excitement that was in the air near crackled enough you could hear it. He'd spent the night before awake, nervous. Making sure he had everything he needed. So far, everything had gone just as planned. The mothers and several of Nick's sisters were making sure everything ran smoothly, while Anna dressed for the big moment. Ciara had said something in passing about, "Can I steal the groom? He's hot in that tux." Anna couldn't wait to see him.

She stared at herself in the mirror, feeling a little overwhelmed. She didn't think she really looked like herself, with her hair pinned up and bits of it left to fall in curls around her shoulders, little jewels and pearls scattered throughout. The veil fell past her bare shoulders, her neck adorned only with the necklace Nick had given her as an engagement present.

The dress itself, well . . . almost defied description. She'd had the white wedding, and it hadn't turned out so well, so this time she'd gone with what she wanted. The dress was a frothy confection of ivory and pink and pale, pale green. The bodice was a beaded, ivory lace corset trimmed in champagne and pink and ivory, with a sash of the same around her waist, a spill of flowers ( ... )

Nick had decided on his brother as a best man, and he came to tell him it was time and they went there together. He gave a look at his brother teasing him about how nervous he was, so there was a little playful pushing, but they both behaved as he went and took his place at the alter. He checked himself again in his tux hoping he looked alright.

"You know," her father said, as they waited for their cue, "the first time I did this, walking you down the aisle . . . I didn't want to say anything, but I didn't think he was the right one for you. You didn't light up with him the way you do with Nick."

She looped her arm through her father's and gave it a squeeze. "I would have argued with you then, but you're right. Thank you, Daddy, for doing this again."

"Anything for my baby girl," he said, smiling fondly. "You look beautiful, honey. That groom of yours probably won't even be able to speak when he sees you."

She laughed a little and ducked her head. Then the music started, and the butterflies in her stomach took flight. Anna clutched at her bouquet, her heart pounding.

Nick stood up straight then when the music started, he waited looking forward to seeing her. His brother gave him a nudge then, and Nick chuckled relaxing a bit. His eyes trained on the entrance, waiting for that first glipse of her.

Kaylee had dragged her father along to the festivities. She'd made sure he was dressed decently and she was wearing a strapless red dress with her hair piled up in curls on her head.

The wedding itself had been absolutely lovely. She of course could only imagine what hers would be like if that moment ever came that was. Sara assured her that it would, eventually. At the reception however, Kaylee chatted with a few people, but she was after all rather quiet.

Grissom was there, looking a bit uncomfortable loosening up his tie and looked to his daughter. He glanced around quietly, waiting to see the happy couple.

Anna wandered over to greet Grissom and the young blonde with him.

"Thank you so much for coming," she said with a smile. "It means the world to Nick."

"It's not a problem. Nick's like family. Right dad?" She looked over and offered a small smile.

Warrick got the invite, which surprised him and unable to turn down going to his best friend's wedding, even if things were weird for this Nick. So he slipped in, and looked around trying to just blend in unnoticed.

Anna wasn't going to let him get away with that, not when he was, to the best of her knowledge, her husband's best friend.

"Hiding, are we?" she asked.

"I was trying." He laughed softly and smiled. "Was a nice wedding."

"This is my wedding, and I say no one's allowed to hide if I can't." She gestured to her poofy dress with a smile. "I'm glad you came. You talk to Nicky yet?"

Greg was mingling with the guests at the reception joking around, laughing it up with them. He was enjoying himself, working his way over to the food.
