Epilogue
Jared sighed for probably the hundredth time in three hours. "Dude," he said. "It's level. I promise."
Jensen rolled his eyes. "It needs to be perfect, Jay," he said. "Bad feng shui can really screw with kids."
"Jen, they're babies. They won't even be able to pronounce 'level' for years," Jared said, with fond exasperation.
"Please," Jensen snorted. "Considering their parentage, they won't shut up from the minute they're born."
"I heard that," Natalie said, waddling through the nursery door, hand on her massive stomach. "Jensen's right. It's crooked. Bump up the left, just a touch."
Jensen threw Jared a triumphant look and reached over to adjust the framed watercolor of Queen Charlotte's Cottage. It mixed in well with the country garden theme of the nursery. There were two cribs, two flower fairy mobiles, and matching blankets with daisies stitched onto them. The perfect room for the two princesses who were due to make their entrance any day.
"There, it's perfect," Natalie said, sinking down onto one of the rocking chairs. "Now stop fussing over décor, and start fussing over my feet."
Jensen grinned and sat down in front of her. "Give 'em here," he said.
Natalie propped her left foot on Jensen's leg. "Hello foot. Haven't seen you in ages," she said, sighing deeply as Jensen started to massage her arch. "You there, Sasquatch. I've got another foot over here that needs rubbing. Least you could do for making me carry your enormous spawn."
Jared sat down next to Jensen and grabbed her other foot. "Anything you like, darlin'," he said. "This is two we owe you."
"Technically, it's two and three," she said, twitching happily as Jensen ran his knuckles up and down the bottom of her foot.
They were interrupted by the sound of ten feet clambering up the stairs. Two dogs and a small boy with green eyes and freckles burst into the room.
"Daddy! Nana and Grandma said to ask you if it was okay for me to have a cookie," Nathan Padalecki-Ackles said, throwing himself at Jensen.
"You've already a couple, kiddo," Jensen said, ruffling the boy's light brown hair.
"But-"
"Tell you what, Nate," Jared said, reaching over to tickle the boy's tummy, grinning at the resulting giggles. "Maybe if we're good, we can talk Nana and Grandma into letting us have ice cream after supper."
"Please?" Natalie begged. "It's the least you can do."
"We'll see," Jensen said, trying to resist five sets of puppy dog eyes and failing miserably.
Jensen couldn't sleep, even though it was nearly three o'clock in the morning. He crept out of bed, leaving an adorably tousled Jared cuddling his pillow, and wandered around their house. Even with all of the traveling, they'd never sold it. Jensen remembered the day Jared had first shown it to him, promising him a future full of love and happiness. He frowned when he remembered how close he had been to walking away from Jared for good. But in the end, he'd stayed.
He stood in the living room, looking at all of the pictures on the wall, pictures of their life together. They'd bought the house about a couple of months after they'd started over, and immediately jumped into renovations. It had taken a year, but on their first night in a completely redone home, convinced that if they'd survived redoing a house they could survive anything, Jared had gone down on one knee and proposed, right there in the middle of the renovated kitchen. Jensen had forgotten all about washing the dishes and had pulled Jared upstairs to the master bedroom to say yes in an appropriate manner.
A month after their summer wedding that they had right there in their own back garden, Jensen had been offered a short stint in Kuala Lumpur. He'd planned on turning it down, but Jared had prodded him into taking it, swearing that he could do most of his work for Gerald remotely.
Four months in KL and then back to England. They were home three months before Natalie made her offer to be a surrogate if they ever wanted kids. A year and one month later, Nate barged into the world with Natalie's attitude and Jensen's eyes. Jared was over the moon.
Nate spent his first birthday in Cairo, this time the little family following Jared's job. Jensen stayed on with EcoDyne as a consultant, working from home and looking after Nate while Jared spent his days on the job site. And when the job was done, they went back to their home. They'd both gone back to Houston for a year when Jensen's dad had gotten sick. Jared worked while Jensen helped his mother through his father's bouts of chemo and rotten temper. Both of their employers had been willing to bend on that one. Once Alan was back on his feet, though, Jensen and Jared both got the urge to go back to their home, with its garden and good memories.
By that time, Jensen had started hinting that maybe Nate needed a little brother or sister. Natalie cleared time on her schedule, and this time it was Jared donating his dimples and his good heart to the gene pool. Now, with Natalie due to deliver in the next two weeks, Jensen finally felt settled. He wasn't saying he'd never go overseas again, but for now, for a good long while, he'd be happy to be in his house, with his husband and their children. Life was good.
He was so intent on the pictures in front of him that he didn't hear Jared come up behind him.
"What's up, babe?" Jared asked, wrapping his arms around Jensen and burying his face in Jensen's neck.
"Couldn't sleep," Jensen said. "Can't wait for the babies to get here."
"I remember babies," Jared said. "We should sleep while we can."
"I know, but I'm just too wired."
Jared moved one of his hands down. He cupped Jensen's stiffening cock. "Think I can come up with a distraction?"
Jensen sighed and leaned back into his husband's body. "It's altogether possible."
"C'mon," Jared said, grabbing Jensen by the hand and pulling him upstairs to their bedroom.
They were naked by the time Jared pushed Jensen back onto their bed. He knelt between Jensen's legs and leaned down to press kisses up Jensen's thigh, while his hands stroked gently down Jensen's sides.
Jensen reached down and tangled his fingers in Jared's shaggy hair, not pulling, just stroking. He loved the feel of the silky strands beneath his fingertips. Jared looked up at him, sighing in pleasure. His eyes were already blown with love and lust, and the sight made Jensen's breath catch. They looked at each other for a moment, and then Jared grinned and went back to the task at hand.
His tongue darted out and tasted the head of Jensen's cock, dipping into the slit. Then he licked broad stripes up and down the length, grinning when Jensen gasped his name.
"Jay, Jay, oh god," Jensen whimpered. Jared planted his hands on Jensen's pelvis, holding him down on the bed. He leaned in and took Jensen into his mouth, suckling lightly on the tip. He fluttered his tongue on that spot just beneath the head and Jensen whined.
Jared took more into his mouth, and Jensen reveled in the warm wet heat that enveloped him from root to tip. His hands tightened in Jared's hair as he tried to thrust up, but Jared held him down, kept Jensen at his mercy. His head bobbed up and down, and every couple of strokes his paused and swallowed around Jensen's cock. Jensen babbled incoherently, not even realizing as Jared took one hand off of Jensen's body and reached over to the nightstand to pull out a small bottle.
His own whimpering and moaning covered up the sound of Jared opening the lid and squeezing the liquid onto his fingers. Jensen didn't realize what was happening until the first finger breached his hole. He hissed at the intrusion, but then immediately tried to thrust back against the finger to drive it deeper.
Jared kept up his ministrations on Jensen's cock even as he worked him open with one, then two, and finally three fingers. When Jensen couldn't take another moment, Jared pulled off of his cock with a wet slurp and sat back on his heels.
"So fuckin' pretty, Jen," Jared growled. "Gonna make you come so hard you sleep for a week."
He grabbed the lube and poured more into his hand. He had to grip the base of his cock to keep from coming as he slicked himself up. Meanwhile, Jensen scooted back on the bed, making room for Jared to climb over him. Jared hooked Jensen's legs over his shoulders and leaned down for a kiss, leaving Jensen completely open. The head of Jared's cock breached Jensen as their lips crashed together.
"God, love you so much," Jared gasped, when they broke apart. He kept up a slow and steady pace, and Jensen felt surrounded by love and desire. He moved his legs to grasp Jared around the waist and pull him deeper. The change in angle had Jared stroking his prostate with every other stroke. Jared groaned as Jensen tightened around him.
"Fuck, Jen," Jared growled. "So fucking good."
"God, Jay," Jensen replied, pulling his husband down for another kiss. "Love you."
Jared sped up, urged on by the sweet filth that started to pour out of Jensen's mouth.
"Fuck, so good Jay. Need your cock in me all the time," Jensen said. "Love the way you feel in me." One more hit on his sweet spot and it was over. He came hard, painting them both with stripes of white. He clenched around Jared, bringing him along for the ride.
"God. Jen!" Jared yelled, his orgasm taking him by surprise. He thrust one more time, and then collapsed on top of Jensen, burying his face in his husband's shoulder.
He eventually pulled out and rolled over, bringing Jensen with him. Jensen curled up into Jared's side and rested his head on Jared's shoulder.
"Think you can sleep now?" Jared asked, dropping a kiss onto Jensen's forehead.
"Mmmm," Jensen replied. He grumbled when Jared got up to retrieve a towel to clean them up, and didn't relax until Jared climbed back into bed.
"One of these days I'm going to knock you up," Jared said with a smirk.
"If anyone could do it, it'd be you," Jensen said, looking up at Jared in adoration.
They were almost asleep when Jensen's cell phone went off. They both surged out of the bed and ran for the dresser.
"It's Natalie," Jensen said, flipping open the phone. "Hey Nat! What's up?"
"Get your enormous husband and get to hospital. My water broke!" Natalie yelped.
"Shit! We're on our way to pick you up," Jensen said, grabbing a pair of boxers from the dresser. Jared was already pulling on a sweatshirt and jeans. He ducked out of their bedroom, most likely to grab Nate. Both of their mothers were with Natalie, keeping an eye on her.
"No time," Donna said, having grabbed the phone. "We'll meet you there."
"Are you okay to drive, Mom?" Jensen asked.
"Honey, I'm probably a lot more together than you two are right now," Donna said. "Now hurry."
Jensen finished dressing and hurtled down the stairs, where Jared was helping Nate into his coat. Jensen grabbed his and Jared's coats, their wallets, and their keys and ushered his husband and son outside and into the car.
Jensen climbed behind the wheel and started the car. They pulled out onto the street and Jensen headed towards the hospital. He drove as quickly and safely as possible, making the normally twenty minute drive in about thirteen minutes. He dropped Jared and Nate off out front and went to find a parking spot.
By the time he made it in, Donna and Sherry had Nate sitting between them and Jared was shrugging into a gown so he could go into the delivery room. He stopped before he went in to give Jensen one last kiss.
"Be back with our little girls," he said, kissing Jensen tenderly.
"We'll be waiting," Jensen said.
Nate was sleeping soundly, sprawled all over Jensen when Jared finally came back out, with a tired yet enormous grin on his face. He kneeled down in front of Jensen, and pulled his husband in for a kiss.
"How'd it go?" Jensen asked.
"Natalie is a goddess," Jared said. "We have two perfect little girls. One four pounds three ounces and the other four pounds seven ounces."
"Oh my god," Jensen said, his eyes filling with tears. "Nate? C'mon big guy, you gotta wake up."
"Wassup, Daddy?" Nate mumbled, rubbing his eyes. "Papa? Where are my sisters?"
"They're in the nursery, kiddo," Jared said, leaning down to kiss his son. "Why don't we wake up Nana and Grandma and go take a look."
"'Kay," Nate said. He went over to poke both of his grandmothers.
"So everything's okay?" Jensen said, grabbing Jared's hands in his own.
"Everything's perfect," Jared said.
"Two girls. Man, we are so screwed," Jensen said.
"Nah, it's just the next big adventure," Jared said.
They kissed, and headed off into the great unknown, together.
