And you're right. I live in Austin, I should get out there and do Austin-y things. I can't take any classes at school (this is my last real semester), but I can take them outside. And I have always wanted to do a Habitat for Humanity. I'll look into that.
I really appreciate your cheerleading/mentoring! It means a lot!
Jen, I've got to say that I agree with Andi. Do things you consider fun. I met my husband Robert while I was in grad school through my next door neighbor. We met when we went downtown for Halloween. It led to talking over the computer for several months before he asked me out. And he took me to see "Never Been Kissed" when it came out because he too had never been kissed.
Just be yourself. That's the best advice I think anyone can give you because it's never good to play a role all your life. I pray and wish you luck in getting out there and enjoying everything that Austin has to offer you.
Don't worry, I got what you were saying. And, I don't know if I'll start going out to bars or anything, I am going to try to get out more. Keyword: try...hehe
First of all, Jen, you are an awesome person. The last part of your post was exactly right - you have great friends, you are funny and have a beautiful spirit, and you are a great writer and your life is full of blessings. Now it's time to work to add one more
( ... )
I love your responses to my blogs. This is the second one in a row that's almost as long as the blog itself...hehe. OK, maybe not, but I love that you take the time to write such long, thought out replies. It makes me feel special.
All of you are super fantabulous for giving great advice. I love you all!!
OK, school starts tomorrow. And tomorrow is also inauguration day, so I'm planning on staying on campus and finding somewhere to watch everything, preferably where there's a big group. It's a start, yeah? And....I guess I can start going to the gym...maybe...hehe. A friend of mine is starting UT this semester, I'll try to get her to come with me and motivate me. ;)
I don't know if I can make a list of ten things...I doubt I'll have time for all of them with school and work, but I'll try.
Thanks again for everything. You rock, Mel! Love you!
Well, you are younger than I, and it's not as big of a deal that you're in the same boat. And you have a job and a phone now, why haven't you asked her out? I thought I told you to do that...maybe not. Well, do it! hehe
Trust me, I'm much more talkative over the computer or texting. In person, I have my very quiet moments, a lot of them.
