first watch

Well, I finally watched & finished Texhnolyze. Right after I finished, I felt a little disappointed with it. I felt like the series had been building up to something much different than was revealed in the ending. What I mean is, I expected a lot of things to be brought together & explained toward the end... but so much was left open-ended. However ( Read more... )

Funny, I felt quite the opposite when I finished Tex. I'm going through my second watching now (this time in Japanese), and I hope I can understand it a little better this time. The things that I didn't understand in my first watching only made me want to see it again, and to theorise and think about it.

Its still my favourite of Abe's work though, along with Haibane Renmei.

Yup, I suppose. Texh is better subtitled, because you can take your time reading what they're saying. ^^v

I saw it subbed because the dubbing was at best laughable. Still, I think a second watch might help. :)

The only real bad point was the lack of vulgarities in the dub. For such a gritty situation, there was not a single use of the word f***. A bit of a pity, but 'sokay.
