Birthday weekend nonsense...
See!! I AM trying to keep up with actually posting!
So last friday was my birthday, which I'm sure most of you know. It was totally welcome, what with all the stress I've been having from my job. Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes, y'all! I have to say, I really wished my SPNers could've been here for my birthday- I received a package from thisis_melissa and it totally made me happy/sad!!! Awesomely happy, because it was the best bday gift ever, and sad because y'all are so far away.
On Saturday, my bff Wendi threw me a Hawaiian luau themed bday party. Complete with a "roasted pig" cake and everything!! We made tons of Blue Hawaiians- one of the only mixed drinks I love!! I'm waiting to get some pictures from people- I'll upload some soon!
Also, if anyone gets a chance to see the film "Never Let You Go" I highly reccommend it! I'm a big fan of dystopian fiction, and this is a great example. It's set in a kind of AU where we are raising clones of people to basically be forced organ donors for the rest of us, and it examines the quality of their lives and how knowing they're slated to die affects them. I know, total feel-good filmmaking!!! LOL.
I really do love stories like this, though, they really make you think about the crazy possibilities- scary.
