Fire refines impure things

The title pretty much says it all. Over the past several years, I have been through fire such that I would never have imagined I could survive. Heck, I brought a lot of it on myself. Early on, I think there was a self destructive impulse involved. But strangely enough, I've walked through, not unscathed, but with much of my excess baggage

I could've written the first half of this myself; I'm still walking through and getting scathed but having so many good examples among my friends of how this sort of thing can end up just as good as it is bad in the meantime, I'm sure I'll come out all right.

Good luck with your continuing transformations. It is sometimes hard to understand why so many of us humans require the various crucibles we pour ourselves into, but . . . it does seem necessary for growth.
