Celebrating my birthday (which is actually the 3rd, for those of you who don't want to click back to my profile) on Apr 12th. Details to follow, but wanted people to have at least a wee bit of warning. I'll be 40! You want to be there, admit it!

For those of you who don't know, I have a new baby! Thomas Prentice Holder, born Mar 13, 8 lbs exactly, 21 inches (at 21:21!). He's very cute, of course. He and mommy are doing well. More details soon, but figured I should at least mention this part...

Ok, I may just be coming down with stomach flu now. Been achy and exhausted all day, and for the last couple of hours badly nauseous, although that hasn't yet gone to its ultimate conclusion... Those who were at my party, consider yourselves warned. :P

Car accident on way to parents' house in Orange County today. No physical injury besides some back soreness (which I'm sure will ROYALLY suck in the morning), no major damage to car. Eric seems in good spirits, but I'm shaken and dazed. I wish there was someone here to give me a hug!

Party at my place in 9 days, on Saturday, Sept 22. Games and munchies (feel free to bring your own of both). Noon until Sunday morning, if anyone wants to crash and stay for breakfast. RSVPs are apprecited. :)

Ok, for anyone with skywatching interests, there's going to be a shower tonight, visible in the western US and Canada, that's not part of the usual annual cycle. The Augurids are caused by the dust trail of comet Kiess, which last passed this way in 1911 after an orbit of about 2000 years.
