Wordbaby post-partum

As mentioned elsewhere: I finished my Camp NaNo project last Friday. I'd already hit the 50k a week before that, but I finished the story, too--the rough draft, of course. It'll need a lot of expansion and editing before it's truly done. Still. Yay ( Read more... )

I think that mean girl in your head needs a good walloping. I know I might be a bit partial(just a little mind lol) but I quite enjoy your writing.
I mean it's miles above that 50 shades drivel. You just need the right person to read it publisher wise, or as you said, self publish.

Thank you, sugar. I feel somewhat better today. Finished the writing book and feel much more confident that I only do have a few pitfalls and they're easy to fix. Already started revising to clean things up.

I really am leaning toward self-pub, at least for Worlds Away and maybe Thunderstone. Harper is the one I think could go big with a proper publisher, so I'm going to hold off on that, and see if I can build a following with the other two first.

Your A/B/C book is one of my favorite books. Books period, not fan novels. It's on my kindle and I reread my favorite parts all the time. I'm really looking forward to reading more things because I love the way go into personal dynamics and how you tell the story.

Thank you!

I think that story really kind of pushed me into thinking I could do this. I'd already finsihed a novel before, but it had taken me forever to do, and I didn't really feel good about how I'd done it. The process for doing BW made a lot more sense to me, and now I'm applying it to everything else I'm doing.

Of course, if I ever do get pubbed, I wonder how honest I'll have to be about that bit of smut. ;)

Um.. Um.. I can't talk, I'm trying to get erotica published under another name myself. I can't talk about that on the twitter 'cause my mom follows me there. Thanksgiving would never be so awkward. Also a comic book under my real name. It never ends.

I'm actually kind of glad I'm starting to move away from the journo career thing. It means it's less of a potential crisis if my real name gets tangled up with this one somehow.

After all, Anne Rice's career didn't get derailed when her early porn (under a pen name) got linked to her. Then again, her later stuff was basically porn, too. So ... ;)
