[ The first inkling of something wrong is when the screen - any screen, really - suddenly flickers. No matter what it might have been showing, it's dark now

Blitzspark had found a niiice pile of socks to nap in, and wasn't paying attention to the odd computer or two in the Dressing Room, until that song started playing from it. In typical cat fashion, his ears perked, and he sat up, watching the blank screen.

Once the song was over, and the question asks, he bounds over. "I'm not User, I'm Blitzspark! Who are you? Are you lost?"

The highest-pitched voice answers back, with equal enthusiasm.

"Oh! Maybe you're our new user!"

Another voice interrupts; more mature and colder than the last.

"It doesn't sound like it."

"Well, maybe they don't know how to use the program!"

"Still, it's doubtful."

After this quick conversation, the more 'mature' voice turns its attention to Blitzspark.

"This doesn't appear to be the computer we were performing on, so I suppose we are technically lost. Where are we?"

The more childish voice pipes up again.

"And how come your name sounds like ours? We're Blitzwing, and we've never met any other user or UTAUloid with that name..."

"Program? You're a program? Oooo..." Blitzspark says, then grins, though the UTAUoid may not see that, "My daddy's name is Blitzwing! And I've got an uncle Blitzwing...couple Uncle Blitzwings. Because they're Blitzwings but not Daddy Blitzwing! Maybe you're an uncle too!"

"Ahahahaha! That's so cool!"

"...I don't think programs are exactly uncle material."

"True, but still! This is exciting!"

"Well, at least this confirms it...there's more than one, anyway. They might not be us, but there are more people around that have our name.

And yes, we are a program. We were developed in order to sing songs."

"Oh! Maybe we can show you what we can sing, if you want!"

[highestspeed]

[ There are still no visuals on the screen, no real change to the dark except possibly another slight flicker. But now there's a new voice added to the mix, puzzled and slightly aggravated. ]

Blitzwing, is that you? You aren't the only ones; if Master did move us over to another computer we had better not have gotten a virus somehow in the process!

"Yeah, it's us."

[ B| Hothead is either eternally B| or D<. THIS HAS NOT CHANGED AT ALL. ]

"Our user doesn't appear to be here! I think we got moved by accident!"

"If you're that worried about a virus, maybe we should run a diagnostic, just in case."

[random_xtras]

Blackout sticks her head out of the energon room with a frown, then walks over and gives the forgotten datapad a good firm whack to see if that will clear it up.

[ The whack, while not hurting the three voicebanks now inside, does provoke an immediate reaction. ]

"What was the point of that?"

"Hey! Hitting the monitor won't do anything, user! I thought we said this before! Your computer is just bad!"

"Idiot, this isn't our user! We're on another system, remember?!"

"I'm not an idiot, you're an idiot!"

"At least I'm not a puny brat!"

[ The bickering between the lower voice and the higher voice continue on for a while, before what is apparently the most neutral one cuts in suddenly. ]

"You do this every day! If you don't shut up I'll mute you!"

[ This appears to cool them off a little. ]

"Okay, so! New user, where are we?"

Blackout frowns slightly as she listens to the bickering, then scans the datapad to see if she can track the transmission, only to see it's not a transmission but a program. ((Right?))

"You're in an abandoned datapad in a nexus between realities."

[mpd_singer]

"A 'datapad?' Most irregular. That's not a computer system we've heard of before..."

"Maybe it's a network..."

"Well, this is supposed to be a 'nexus'! Maybe it's a really big computer system!"

[dens_extra_pups]

Tarantulus frowns. He had expected the door he was going through to lead to the Black Dog in the other Nexus, but instead, he's in the dressing room today... And then he sees a screen flicker, and hears the song. -... Some kind of computer glitch?-

He approaches the computer terminal with apprehension, before hesitantly typing.

[Hello? Who is this?]

[ Oh, text! Instead of replying as usual, a small list of what appear to be specifics is brought up. ]

[We are the UTAUloid Blitzwing, released on 29th May, 2008.
We were created using the Vocal Synthesizer Tool UTAU program.
Our voice sources are the users kumo and ikiba.
As a whole, we are three voicebanks packaged into one.
]

[ And then the voices start up again. ]

"What if this user doesn't know what an UTAUloid is?"

"Well, they can ask. We have a lot of information too, you know."

"... Wait. Can you guys hear me then?" Puzzled mech is puzzled. "And what the heck is an UTAUloid? Where are you?"

"♪If only you had the ears that I have, I would
sing you a song from the bottom of my heart but would you
hear me?♪"

"This isn't the time for singing, Random! Don't you know anything?!"

"Ah...to answer your question, we can hear you. We are programs, so we usually remain here, in the computer.

An UTAUloid is a program, designed by a user, to sing songs. A music-making program, in other words."

"Oh! Oh! Can we give you a demonstration, new user? We can sing Circle You again!"
