Title: In The Back Or In The Faceplate

Warnings: Spoilers through Transwarped! Other than that, uh... Mentions of canonical character death? Silliness? Cross-faction not-quite-admitting to not-quite-friendship? THEY'RE ALL FINE CHOICES.

Summary: Getting stabbed in the back once can ruin a lot of trust you have for someone, even if they do it to your face. Blitzwing would just rather have the two stop fighting every five cycles.
A/N: This fic sort of takes place in the context of RP, but basically, Blurr is alive again and he, Shockwave, and Blitzwing are trapped in a highly dangerous location and forced to work together, blah blah blah actually becoming a team, but Primus knows it'd take forever for them to get along or admit to having bonded a little even after they had. So really, this is more like "Friends stab you in the front, true friends don't stab you at all," but hopefully the feel of the prompt is still in there. ;)
"--so next time you decide you need to stab me in the back I'd appreciate it if you at least pretended to have some form of decency and chose to do it to my faceplate!"
Cybertronians did not breathe. Cybertronians did not need to breathe. Therefore, Cybertronians did not need to sigh, but Blitzwing fought back an overwhelming urge to sigh anyway. From the sound of it, those two were at it again -- and all snippiness aside, even he was being forced to wonder who had started it this time. Blurr did have a habit of going off at the slightest provocation, but that hardly meant that Shockwave never provoked him, even when he (possibly) shouldn't.
"Must you keep bringing this up, truly? Besides, if you recall, I was shooting at your faceplate. And in that case, it can hardly be called stabbing you in the back."
"Oh yes, I'm sorry, I just can't seem to let go of the fact that you shot at me and had me crushed into a cube and thrown into an incinerator! I wonder why that is! And you know that's merely a turn of phrase and has nothing to do with whether someone is facing you or not or if you're even stabbing them rather than betraying them in some other way for that matter and no amount of pretending that terminology should be taken literally--"
That time, Blitzwing did sigh. Whoever's fault this was, Blurr was heading straight for full-blown rant mode now. It was likely already too late; shutting him up when he got this far was usually impossible, at least unless they felt like having him swat at them at high speed for trying to interrupt and talk over him. Not that it actually hurt, but it was annoying.
Still, may as well try. Hothead managed to spin into control for a moment, snapping a "Did jou haf to get him started?!" at Shockwave before Icy took back over and turning his attention back to Blurr, who was, yes, still trying to chew Shockwave out.
"--and even if we're having to work together right this moment the very good reasons you've given me not to trust you haven't disappeared and if you think--"
"Blurr. Shut up."
Blurr's glare switched to him in a flash. "Don't you try telling me--"
"No vun's stabbing jou in zer back, or in zer faceplate."
"And do you really think that I'm going to believe you about that??"
Blitzwing shrugged. "Vhat jou believe has never changed vhat's true. It isn't going to start now."
That left Blurr momentarily speechless. With Blurr, 'momentarily' was very momentary, but it was enough time for Blitzwing's own faceplates to shunk again.
"Now, jou two, kiss und make up! Ahahaha~!"
. . . and promptly, Blurr was back to high-speed ranting, this time at a cackling Blitzwing, while Shockwave was left to roll his optic at the ceiling. But things were defused . . . after a fashion. Right now, not being at each other's throats was probably the best they could hope for, during down-time.
