Bye bye forever Night Nurse Show

Jun 09, 2009 22:51

So, I have cancelled the subscription for Libsyn which was hosting the mp3 files.

Now, I need to take the site down off. How the fuck does one do that?

Delete all the files and it won't be there any more. I don't think you can get rid of the domain name until it expires, though. Just upload a blank page as index.html or put something up saying that Night Nurse is closed?

See, I wouldn't mind a holding page or something to say it's gone forever and/or having a redirect to my new show that is coming soon but I need to get a website set up for that.

I could delete all the files but I will loose the site forever if I do that?

Not sure what you mean by "take the site down" -- do you need hosting for the mp3 files? How much space do they take up? I could possibly provide a home for them.

I should have mentioned this last night. Thank you for the offer but that's cool. I have a copies of all the shows backed up so it's cool.

Show 125 was the last show. We are officially done. Remember I had an idea for a new show I am going to do by myself? Well, ending The Night Nurse Show will give me more time to do that. I am actually putting together a bit of a "demo" of the new show next week which I am making Twitter only. I will be doing it when I am back from Download.

I remember everything you told me.
Sorry, I should re-word my question... 'How come you're not leaving it up as an archive?'

I would rather pay the money towards one site rather than two. Cause the money came out for the Libsyn account unexpectedly last month, some sweet talking to the bank convinced them not to charge me £63 for a missed £6 payment. I would rather keep the money for the new site and manage the payments better.
