So this is what happens when i decide to go to bed early because i'm tuckered out from teaching!

i'd never really had it before, but i knew that p really enjoyed it.

ended up being a really good night. i now know why all the intelligentsia had it as their preferred drink: you get inebriated, but it's still fun to think, and the conversation at least has the perception of being meaningful & profound. having a smart wife to talk to for all of this was great as well. some outstanding conversation and a good connection made for a really rewarding evening.

the hangover, on the other hand, is rough.

Yes, I've heard that absinthe was imbibed by smart folk in meanignful quantities back in the good ole' days of unadulterated European imperialism.
