So
sollite
has gone her way...it was as wonderful and as difficult as we all knew
it would be.
Contrary to what she might be thinking, it's not a dumb
idea to go away from everything familiar in pursuit of one's true path.
But know, dear little sister, that we've spent much of the weekend
around Chez Aphrodite keeping each other company, having a great deal
of food
and drink together, and missing you.
We went to the new Opal
Divine's at Penn Field on Saturday evening, but were not at all favourably impressed.
The waiter was working
very hard, but the food was slow to get to us (about an hour), and it
wasn't very warm when it got to us. The hostess
was a bit snotty, and
the party of 30 she told us she had to seat never materialized. I look
forward to going back in a couple of months, when
presumably the
place will be a little more organized. It did, however, still have an
impressive selection of single-malt scotch, as the original Opal's
does.
A really full array of fine tequila too, though no frozen
margaritas. Still, we had a good time being silly with each other. We took some pictures in the
parking lot to send to sollite.
Sunday we went with theoldone and greeneyedpagan and most of the rest of House Aphrodite to get some brunch at Trudy's; again more silly pictures taken.
Thanks, my friends, for the shared company and merriment. It was a
delightful weekend, and we are all eagerly awaiting sollite's news from
Portland!
