A couple pictures of the Zimmerstutzen match. The English have darts, and the Germans have a shooting gallery using these rifles. They shoot a 4mm lead ball atop a CB cap, which looks like a tiny copper cartridge, sometimes called an acorn. Most of the barrel is a false muzzle, with about 8" of it being actual barrel. You'd have to ask the Germans. Probably the limitations of such a tiny cartridge.
