You did a fantastic job at getting across Bill’s despair and desperation about being stranded and being frustrated about life in general. I really felt his nervousness and anxiety right from the beginning. It was wonderfully moody, and you perfectly captured all the weird feelings about meeting an ex again after a long time. I also love how you contrast them constantly - past and present, wealthy and not as well-off. Tom's kindness and generosity was very touching, and the ending was just great. You packed a lot of emotion into a short story, and it was beautiful!

I mostly wanted to focus on their thoughts and feelings about life in general, rather than only about each other, so I'm really happy to know I managed to do that a little! Thank you so much for letting me know!

THAT was a brilliant story. :-) You built it up really nicely, not revealing everything about Bill and Tom from start, but little by little. I like stories that work like that. Makes the reader hunger for more. ;-) And the ending was just brilliant. Wonderful work!

I'm not used to writing happy endings, and I was so nervous this would seem rushed and/or unrealistic. Makes me very happy to see you liked it though, thank you for the nice words.
