I really loved the feel of this story and the emotion you got across. It was kind of melancholy at first but then it blossomed into such a hopeful friendship between Bill and Tom. I love how you had them bond over books! It was perfect! This was just a great story all the way around, wonderful job! <3

Jeeeez I loved this story. I appreciated the start, I felt connected to them and sorry for them both all the while, and when the part about Tom taking care of Bill's mom began shivers went up my spine. I got so into it. I loved that it was sort of fast-forward without a lot of explanations. When Tom said, for example, that he had suspected Roger doing something, it was wholly believable even if it hadn't been mentioned earlier. I loved it. Not to mention when Tom said, being a parent comes with risks. He knew that when he became a dad. Yay! For taking the guilt off Bill. I love the friendship here. I love the love growing. Wow,wow. Thank you.

Oh, wow, this quite took my breath away. This is the kind of story you need to read more than once to really appreciate all of the subtleties. Marvelously wrought!
