Well, back at work after a lovely Christmas and New Year break - all's still up in arms here and very busy. I'm not so bothered though, because we're off around the world on 2nd April! I think I'll be finding it increasingly difficult to both a) pay attention and b) care about work over the coming 11.5 weeks ( Read more... )

we're at -3 in the shade! blimey. and that's it warming up! did you have snoes?

livejournal cannot die. i have 6 years worth of chronicles on here! that will take so long to back up! and the journal function on facepalm sucks!

tres jealous of world adventuring but i have at least 3 trips abroad lined up to compensate so it's just a case really of a) ensuring i have a passport asap b) not spending all my money on books and dvds...

We had a sprinkling of (oh) snoes the other day, but nothing to really write home about. I just thought it was frost!

There is some discussion about lj backup tools below - there's plenty for windoze if you look around. And it's most likely it'll just go totally ad-funded and rubbish before it goes away completely. And if it does, I'll either move to DeadJournal or just ditch in favour of nothing/wordpress. :)

When are you first heading off then? Scrimp and save! Don't spend in rubbishy old England! :D

Pretty good! Just listening to a lot of Florence and The Machine and trying to work :)

By the way, in case this should happen to be the end (and I really don't think it is) ljmigrate is an awesome tool for backing things up if you still have a mac floating around.

If you're geek enough to have Python installed ljmigrate will work on a PC too, it's just that macs come that way these days.

Otherwise ljarchive is supposed to be ok once you've got it set up. I know it handles a lot of information pretty well, but I've never touched it myself!

ljarchive is fine. Pretty much anything is better than LJ's own exporting tool.
