I tried to call the surgeon this morning, only to have the receptionist tell me I have to contact the billing office before she could leave a message for me. I guess I'll drop another letter off at his office.

WHAT? That's ridiculous! What if you were calling because of a concern? That is so fucked up.

Yeah, well, I called my primary care physician (at the same medical group) several months back to make an appointment for bronchitis or something and they wouldn't let me see him until I set up a payment plan, so I don't think they care whether I have a concern or not.

They don't care if you have a concern, just as long as they make sure they'll get their money.

The tories can back off my NHS when I hear stories like this. (sorry to sidetrack your rubbish news with my local politics)
