Today was hot! It's been a nice Thai winter, but when I started out for school (my whole 2 1/2 minute journey more depending on traffic) the outside air hit me wiht muggyness eww. Do you put anchovy sauce in your som-tam? I bet it would go good with crunchy baby shirmp.

When I buy it and not get it made I think they do put Fish Sauce in it, and I don't eat shrimp so I get it w/o that. When i make it myself I use Soy Bean Sauce instead of Fish Sauce. The Fish Sauce is a main staple in cooking here and can soetimes taste it in things like som-tam but try to avoid it.. it's yucky.

I'm not realyl sure there are soo many different sauces here. But It's not Soy Sauce, it's made from actual soy beans like they make tofu out of..I think..?!?
