[ History ] : Tsun tsun dere tsun dere tsun tsun~
Ah, the town theme. This is the first impression anyone would get of Sakurashin-machi. They would also note it's a fairly carefree town; from it's (somewhat amusing) town song, down to its employees and townsfolk, it's a peaceful place. Humans and yōkai coexist peacefully here. Yōkai can otherwise be known as demons, which is a general term for a being with abnormal powers; from an Oni to a Jiang Shi--literally a dead corpse that lives again (with aid, such as Rin, who has sutras and a special pin that allows her to move). In most parts of the world where yōkai and humans exist, there is bitter fighting. Many humans, residents of 'our' world, view yōkai as poison or evil; even sometimes heartless or soulless creatures, if you're particularly keen on Biblical depictions of 'demons' or yōkai

Hiizumi Enjin ♋ 3/??derpchanApril 18 2010, 16:25:54 UTC
[ History cont'd ] : You see, the Hiizumi family has existed for many generations. They, themselves, are known as 'tuners', and should also not technically exist in the human world. But they do, and are normal humans, even, except for the ability to send those who migrate from the yōkai world back there. Yes, yōkai can be in 'our' world (let's just call it side A, as they are fundamentally the same except for the inhabitants, who cannot see the people on the other planes--like ghosts, almost. That is to say, side A cannot see side B. It's like a coin), but they do not belong in it. This is where the Hiizumi family comes in... you see, they originally alone have the ability to sever all connections with the yōkai world and ours in a single yōkai, sending it back permanently, for good or ill. No one knows what the 'other' world is like

Hiizumi Enjin ♋ 4/??derpchanApril 18 2010, 16:31:38 UTC
[ History cont'd ] : That, more or less, is Enjin's motivation. But if Enjin is a descent of Enyou and from the other side (let's call the yōkai world 'side B', okay?), how the heck did he end up in Sakurashin-machi, let alone our world? And WHY does he want to destroy the town? ... Ah, isn't THAT the question. And it has... an interesting (and horrifying) answer: he is incorporeal. What this means... is he is dead. But he is not like a Jiang Shi (living corpse), like Rin. Oh, no. Enjin, being a Hiizumi by blood, has far greater powers (and more master over them) than Akina... and god only knows how many lifetimes more he had to practice with them. Using these spiritual powers, Enjin possessed the body of Nanami Ao's older brother, Gin, while he was on side B. Which is all well and good, except that... Gin is a yōkai who had been trying to do just the opposite of Enjin. He wanted to prevent the worlds from fusing

Hiizumi Enjin ♋ 5/??derpchanApril 18 2010, 16:37:15 UTC
[ Personality ] : To describe him in one word is impossible, but if I had to, I would say "enigma". Why? Well... Enjin is mysterious. Everything from his past, to how he mostly became like he is, to 'who' he truly is... is unknown. All that one can say for SURE about him (and undoubtedly, he LIKES it this way) is that he is no longer among the living. Which is why he is in the body of Nanami Ao's older brother, Gin. The fact that he is willing to pretty much all but sever the soul of Gin so he can steal his body says a lot about his true nature: Enjin cares for no one but himself and his own goals. He's fueled by hate for the Hiizumi main line, and the lies told by them about his predecessor, Enyou. But whatever he may say, his true motivations; why he is attempting to cross the dimensions and destroy Sakurashin-machi... are known only to himself. He is a ruthless, powerful person, and he'll manipulate any possible angle he can to get what he wants accomplished, and to get the job done

Hiizumi Enjin ♋ 6/??derpchanApril 18 2010, 16:41:26 UTC
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] : As I mentioned earlier, Enjin's body is not his own. While that may be true, don't expect to be ejecting him from the body of Ao's brother anytime soon. He quite likes the Satori power he has in it, after all. He can manipulate minds as well as read them, fight well in martial art and street terms, and can also tune and use the power of the Hiizumi like as Akina can with a much better understanding and mastery. His cunning and guile make him agile and quick to think on his feet. He is also a yōkai, which means he has better than average strength to a human, as well

[ Strengths/Weaknesses cont'd ] :
Strengths • Tuning: The ability of the Hiizumi family line, Enjin can sever connections of a yōkai from the human world back to theirs, sending them back. It can also be damaging, as it is also able to be amassed like electricity or energy over his hands and arms, and can cause shocking or boost the strength and pain of his blows and punches, and possibly worse.
• Satellite: a form of Telekinesis, like Ao's, is probably something he can do--a mass, city-wide mind reading that can make one extremely tired afterward. After all, he IS in the body of her older brother, and probably is better at controlling the power.
• Mind Interference: Think of it as 'Reverse Satellite', more or less. He can cast this on the mind of an entire city with ease and, in the process, make one building or himself (or several people, even perhaps all of those within any space) unable to be thought of. As if it didn't exist... as if the mind and eye skates right over an area. He can even make it so people cannot leave

[ Other Important Facts ] : ... DID I MENTION ENJIN HAS THIS HUGEASS SCAR ON HIM? Right. Oh, and he looks liketheseimageshere, since I am lazy. Due to conflicting with the anime (which is terrible and not canon--I am taking him from entirely manga canon), his icons... might confuse you, uh. So! Since Ao's hair is teal-blue-silverish, so is her brother's. However, since Gin's eye color is unknown (presumably blue), and Enjin is possessing him, I figure I will go with his eyes being red for effect.
... And yes those are cat ears AND human ears on his head. No he does not possess a tail.
Hiizumi Enjin ♋ 9/??derpchanApril 18 2010, 16:51:00 UTC
[ Sample ] : Enjin stood up, slowly. The ‘ears’ on his head twitched slightly in dismay, and he looked at the white fur on his coat with disdain (it had better be salvageable, he’d thought, as he rather liked this coat) before quietly getting to his feet. He felt woozy, when he knew very well he shouldn’t-after all, he’d just recently visited ‘his’ little sister, right? He WAS her ‘big brother’ now, after all. Not only that, but she AND the little oni girl-Kishi Tōka, wasn’t it?-had so graciously (he thought) given him (read: he’d stolen) the energy he needed to use the Satori power in this body. There was a moment before he realized he was missing his glasses, and looked down, to find them greeting him from the stone floor

[ Sample cont'd ] : After a moment, he began walking, boots clacking, and found himself casting a glance upwards. ... At first, he hadn’t noticed it, but the sky here... was strange. No, beyond strange; it was downright weird, even by his standards (and he was dead). He was quiet for a moment, and stopped walking when he looked down at his shadow... which was moving. ... Why? And when a large fish swam past the barrier, his frown, however slight, turned to disbelief, and then amusement, his expressions finally coming full-circle.
“Ahaha! It's the damn ocean?” He said, half in disbelief, half in amusement. “How about that! What an interesting place...”
It was certainly that. Another person nearby, this time a teenager, looked at him (and clearly a resident of this world, which Enjin was certain was neither the yōkai nor the human worlds; he’d know, he’d been to both), and said to a man nearby, “It’s another one of the saviors!” before he was hurried away by the man. Enjin was quiet for a moment, his expression blank, because you’d
