A few months back I've been asked to allow use of one of my personal pieces as cover for a German gaming e-zine 'Anduin'.
Last week I was told the issue in question is up and I must say the resulting cover came as a very pleasant surprise...

I had been thinking about the developments in my 'former-hobby-now-second-job' in the last year, then I saw the 'Retrospective' post on artoftheempath 's journal and thought 'Why not?', a summary in writing is a very good idea...

Around August I had got wind of an historical re-enactment event nearby that sounded interesting.
It was not far from here, in Monzambano, a small town (about 4500 people live in the municipality), that like so many here in Italy still has the walls of the Middle-Age burg and its castle.

I hope I'm not jinxing it, but I'm rather happy with 2008 so far: I'm still new enough to professional illustration that selection in juried annuals the caliber of Exotique and Exposè has me high for a few days (to be repeated when the books arrive home), and when a client comes back for more I always feel I'm being paid a compliment.

'Dark Days' (see a few posts below)was among the pieces I submitted for inclusion in the upcoming Exotique 4 by Ballistic Publishing.

...After some nail-biting time, I today received an e-mail from the editor confirming the inclusion of 'Dark Days' and showing the proof of the composited page.

And there was much rejoicing

British based Art Squared ( www.artsquared.co.uk ) is looking for digital art submissions for the first in a planned series of juried art books meant to showcase high-quality art.

There are no fees for submission and artist aren't asked either to contribute to publishing fees or to distribute the books (if it were *that* kind of book I wouldn't ( Read more... )
