The BBC allegedly believes most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here:

Boo, only about 18 completed on that list for me (a couple books I read when I was very small and don't remember if I finished or not). I also made a point to not read The Davinci Code. I think it was only included to make people who don't read good books feel better about themselves.

22: That house also had a bowling alley in the basement. I think it was near the secret passages.

You should read Dune. It's great. It's something like a combination of Pern and Shogun and a third thing that I really like but forget what it is now- wait, I think it was The Mists of Avalon but don't quote me on that.

Ooh, I definitely want to reread Mists of Avalon again! Actually I don't know if I managed to make it to the end of that either--I almost never finish Arthurian stories because they tend to end badly, although of course there are exceptions.

I was also wondering why there were so many, um, trashy seems too strong a word but you know what I mean, books on that list. I mean, all the old books on that list are seen as "literature" today, but then you get to the modern books and I'm surprised they didn't put something by John Grisham or Dean Koontz. At least they didn't put The Scarlet Letter. Maybe someone's actually enjoyed reading that all the way through but I've never met them...

I knew it was going to blow up in her face and I didn't want to be there to see it. I always hate those sorts of scenes. I still leave the room when the Beast throws Belle out of his inner sanctum.)

Oh, yes, the same. This is why I don't watch sitcoms anymore.

Yep, even the most two-dimensional characters, even the most evil characters. I had to force myself to read the end of Misery because I felt sorry for Annie. There really is something wrong with my brain...
