In other news, the estimate I had come up with on the car was artificially high because I messed up. :o) I looked some more and depending on the site I could find retail values of my old car from $5500 to $6500. Of course, the insurance company came back and tried to say the car was worth $5500. I showed them all of my research and we settled on $6100. After deductible, they will be giving me $5850. Looking around online, I've found at least 10 comparable Honda Civics for under $6000 so as soon as I get the money (need to get the title from my in-laws first) I don't think I'll have a problem getting a new (to me at least) car.
