I come home, do some major league sweeping and mopping because the mice decided to leave lots of presents around (sadly, they weren't red square boxes wrapped in shiny green ribbon, wrong season..), put things away, and set down some gluetraps (which, by that point, while I love rodents,

Maybe put away the glue traps and put out some of her food? It'll probably attract the bad rodents, but it might be worth a try for a few days.

Well, I put away the traps first thing. I'm not sure if she'd even be in the house at this point to smell the food, though, it's been a few days..

Could you put up signs around the house (I assume you're in an apartment within a house?) asking people to let you know in case they see her? She may show up in another apartment, perhaps.

You're not a bad mom. Accidents happen, unfortunately.

Well, it's mainly just the folks right beneath me, then on the first floor is the dentist's office run by my landlord. I should ask my neighbors at least..
