Ramblings of a Murine Soul

Apr 27, 2006 11:20

The longer I stray from LJ, the more tempted I am upon returning to write that This Is What I Really Think post. You know, the one where I finally say, “If I see Mediocre Story X rec’ced one more time I’m going to gouge out my own eyes and use ‘em as marbles,” and, in the great tradition of Flannery O’Connor, “X might’ve been a good woman if there ( Read more... )

Heh. Flannery O'C. has a smashing way with a phrase, and her Misfit's final lines in "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" never fails to pop into my brain when I'm contemplating poop-headedness.

Kliban...Ah. "Love to eat them mousies" are words to live by.

Hee! Babe, if I lived in a castle like that I'd have tons of cash to drop on heating--since this is my fantasy, after all. Tons of cash and heaps of pretty boys...What a life that would be. And thanks! *mwah*

I love "your" castle. It's gorgeous; I can completely understand why you'd want to live there.

Not that anyone gives murine ass

::adores:: I just might have to steal that phrase at some point, if you don't mind.

::joins you in fangirling the English language::

Hee! Isn't language great? And I love that you understand, word-lover that you are, the thrill of a new discovery, even if it's only a murine little word. *g*

As for the castle? Man, that would be fabulous! Just me and the hot manservants... *wanders off into triple-X-rated reverie*

Hey, sweets! Your posts are always a treat. Love the castle pic and don't we all deserve a harem for just the reasons you suggest?

Had to write because I've been a Kliban fan for ages. I've had Kliban posters, a Kliban beach towel and even a Kliban ornament for my Christmas tree. This year's datebook/calendar is a Kliban one. Is Kliban making a comeback?

This week's drawing shows two Kliban kitties making their way through a pool of spring flowers. The flowers are so deep you can see only head and tail for one and tail only for the other. I love it. My Pansy cat looks just like a Kliban cat. She's always had the white face and striped legs and tail; now that she's a bit older, she also has the Kliban kitty belly. Major cuteness!

Hiya, hon! I was reading your journal today doing some catch-up, and I see that you're going on a trip--awesome!

I don't think that Kliban's making a comeback as far as I know; I just find myself periodically singing, "Love to eat them mousies..." (Because, yes, I've given it a tune. Heh.)

Your cat sounds adorable! Mine look more like a starved psycho and a chubby boxer, respectively. *g*

It is so good to see you posting again!

Murine. You know somebody's going to name their electro-indie-pop band that now.

Thanks, chica! I say this every time, but it's always so good to be back! Yay!

As for the band name--it's just waiting to happen, isn't it? Hee!
