Title: Bookends Pairing: Harrry/Draco Rating: PG13 Summary: The dragon is not dormant. He's reciting Shakespeare and waiting for the sea nymphs. The Boy Who Lived is guarding the bathroom door.
My God. I've told you a million times how beautiful your writing is, every single time I've read something you've written. Just... God. If Harry and Draco had stayed around each other, I really think this is the kind of relationship they would have developed, a kind of chaotic good fueled by Harry's unwavering loyalty and Draco's staggering insecurity. Really, really god job. Really.
Ah, love, thank you so much for sticking around, what with the insanities my head spits out! whatever, sea nymphs rule. a kind of chaotic good fueled by Harry's unwavering loyalty and Draco's staggering insecurity I love that idea. Love it. And I'm glad you think this relationship is, how should I say, possible? Because they're hard to pair up, most times I've tried it, it just seems unrealistic.
I guess I wrote a rant, sorry lolololonewconditionsJuly 20 2011, 14:00:57 UTC
A lot, a lot of people really hate on Draco/Harry because it's supposedly based on the idea that they're enemies who hate each other and so obviously they're in love. Obviously.
Well, yeah, maybe in the first and second year, but as the story progresses the characters develop and deepen, making any possible relationships potentially really complicated, not just Draco/Harry. And yeah, it is a rather unrealistic pair, because if all that's to the story is a happy couple, then the writer has completely missed the main point of both characters. Draco is a whiny lordling boy and Harry is an unlikely hero child, and any relationship that they develop, if any at all, is going to be highly dysfunctional and severely complicated due to their differences in character but also due to their previous loyalties
