Up to date with Battlestar Galactica

Whew, I'm finally all caught up with Battlestar Galactica, and waiting with everyone else until next year for the rest of it. (c: I can finally start reading other peoples' analysis and speculation without fearing spoilers.

These thoughts are just random and almost dot-point in their lack of flow, because I can't seem to actually remember the things I'd thought about while watching.

I quite liked the way Season 3 ended, enjoyed the final episode. The music did really good things in building the mood near the end, from the four newly aware cylons converging, up to Kara returning at the end.

Actually, while I'm thinking about Season 3, I also liked the start of it, too. Exodus had so many cool moments. Galactica's return to New Caprica, falling through the atmosphere, launching vipers, then jumping out. Pegasus' final battle. I liked it.

Baltar is a pretty cool character, and his development through season four has been pretty interesting, too. Also, his seeing his own Virtual Baltar struck me as very amusing.

It was interesting to read that Helo and Racetrack were both originally intended to be one-off characters.

I'd been slightly apprehensive that they'd painfully drag out the reveal of the four known final cylons for ages (by this I mean the rest of the characters making this discovery, not us as viewers), so I was glad to see it come to a head by the season four mid-season finale. I'd been hoping that they weren't going to try to postpone it so that they could use this stand off as the cliffhanger. I mean, you know there was obviously going to be one, so throughout the episode, and the ones prior, I'd found myself trying to guess what cliffhanger they were going to use.

Next, I started wondering if they were going to end up with a bunch more episodes of tension as they travel along in space towards Earth, so it was nice to see them just jump there directly.

And I was so happy seeing everyone so jubilant when Adama announced to the fleet that they had reached Earth, even though I knew something bad was going to happen. (I mean, ten episodes to go, right? :P) I was thinking that maybe I should have just stopped watching five minutes before the end (but I knew I couldn't have done that, either. Heh). So sad the moment you hear the clicking of the Geiger counter, and everyone just standing around dejected.

OMG why can't I just do a short post for once?
