The Internet tells me that Robert Pattinson is to play Kurt Cobain in an up-coming movie. This is wrong on so many levels. I bet Kurt is turning in his grave and weeping for humanity over this one.

I don't know. I mean - I don't trust his acting chops at all (but then again, all I've seen of him was his take on Cedric Diggory), but I think Cobain would have appreciated his punk-ish attitude. Pattinson is clearly aware of how terrible Twilight is and how ridiculous Mr Sparklypants is, and seems to go out of his way to mock it and act as little as a tween idol as possible.

And the grunge look certainly comes naturally to him! :P

True about the grunge look, plus apparently he can sing, but I think he's seriously lacking in acting skills and street cred thanks to the whole tween idol thing. Confession: I have this whole irrational hate thing going on towards him (he's not even hot - I don't get it!) and I really like Kurt Cobain, so it's like having the anti-christ playing a personal favourite of mine. Wrrrongggg!

When I heard this I think my face actually looked like DDDDD:

I don't like the actor, and certainly don't respect him, which is what I want from an actor who'll play such an iconic role.

Plus, I'm not gonna lie, I'd be really pissed off if I went to see the movie and the audience was full of tweens who were just there for the 'eye candy' and who probably had no idea who Cobain was or why he's so important to so many of us.

Personally I think it's a shame that the timing is wrong, because all of the actors I could picture as Cobain are too old now, and of course when they were the right age it was too soon to make a movie.

I know!!! I think besides my irrational hatred towards the guy in general, the idea that tweens are going come and see the movie just because they want to drool (and sigh!) makes me twich. You know Kurt was pretty, but that's so not the point. (Plus I totally don't get why people think Pattinson is hot, I think he always looks like he's stoned up to his eyeballs...)

Anyway, I still get goosepumps from watching MTV's Nirvana Unplugged 'cause Kurt sang his heart out in that moment.
