Ryan’s perfectly aware that Troy hasn’t done this with any other Wildcat. All evening he waits for Troy’s confession, watching the sky change from sunset to twilight to black, but Troy keeps him in the dark. Finally he questions it.
“Why are we really here?”
Troy eyes him warily. “I told you, I’m -”
“No, you’re not,” Ryan interrupts. “I asked everyone, and I’m the only one you took out.”
Troy’s mouth opens and closes.
“You’re so transparent, you know that?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Ryan rolls his eyes. “Stop talking,” he says, and kisses Troy on the lips.
