“I’ll be right back,” Troy says apologetically, excusing himself from the dinner table as his phone vibrates in his pocket. When he’s sure he’s out of earshot, he flips it open. “Ryan, we’re in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner.”
“I know,” comes his boyfriend’s voice down the line. “This won’t take long.”
“You’re keeping me from my pumpkin pie, dude, this better be important.”
“You know how we have to go around the table and say what we’re thankful for?”
“Yeah?”
“I wanted to tell you… it’s you, Troy. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
