Troy’s gaze slides over to the boy in the passenger seat of his beat-up old truck who is presently belting out the lyrics to the Thirteen Senses song that’s currently being beamed out to them over the airwaves.
Ryan stops singing. “What?”
Troy flushes a little and turns his attention back to the road. “Nothing, I just. I like your voice, that’s all.”
“Yeah?” Ryan smiles. “Well, I like your face.”
Troy catches his eye, grins back and maybe, just maybe, wishes for one tiny second that he were single.
