I wish you could quit your job and do nothing else except create music! I love this track! It's so upbeat sounding but the lyrics aren't. I always like that disconnect. Happy chords! Not-so-happy lyrics.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, I tend to write kind of dark lyrics, but so do most of my favorite songwriters.
I'm not sure I would be happier if I didn't have a job and just did music all the time. I'm pretty lucky I only have to work three days a week. I don't take that for granted. And I like having a job, being useful. I think everybody should pull their weight to some degree. It's good for me to get out of the house and talk to people.
Oh, I love dark lyrics. In going back and re-listening to bands I enjoyed as a teenager I have come to realize the best lyrics are the ones that are dark, brooding, or clearly working through something. I like trying to find meaning in them, too.
