what came next

That Friday afternoon, Ben had to attend the annual ODAC First Aid Refresher course. Alex went home- home, in this case, being Ben's home.
Alex received this message at 1.55pm. Ben was presumably having lunch.
Five minutes later:
A split second after that, Ben replied.
After a fifteen-minute pause:
This message was sent from underneath the desk at the back of the AVA Room. Ben tried to ignore the fact that Lim Jun Qi, Robin the prefect was sitting just in front of him.
A good twenty-seven minutes later, Alex replied. Ben thanked God for silent mode.
Robin went to the toilet. Ben inwardly rejoiced.
Halfway through the video on CPR, this message came in:
Robin returned, but not before Ben sent this message:
Half a minute later,
Ben felt rather guilty about finishing the lasagna.
The guilt vanished when this message arrived:
PURE INDIGNANCE.
This is what Ben sent Alex after he realised that Alex was really shutting up.
A good twenty minutes later, Alex made a weak attempt at wry humour.
