Book Club

Oct 27, 2008 13:35

Well, I suggested a starting a book club at work and now I get to be the first one to choose our next book. We will meet to discuss in early January.

Does anyone have suggestions for a really good book that can be discussed at a book club?

i thought jodi picoult's book keeping faith was kind of interesting; it's about a little girl that seems to be able to talk to god.

since any kind of religion brings out "discussion", maybe that would be a good book =)

oh yeah, there are a lot of other books of hers (Picoult) that are very book club worthy =) 19 minutes (i haven't read it yet) but it deals with school violence/shootings and instead of the shooter automatically being the guilty one, it twists the story where you could see him in a victim pov.

anyway, good luck! if they don't like it, they will just blame you. no pressure, hehehe. just kidding =)

what kind of books?

I'm reading Blink, by Malcolm Caldwell, which was a good seller, and it's interesting, but it's also non-fiction...

I have Blink at home on my nightstand but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Is it good?

So far, and I just started it, it's an interesting read, and I know others on my friend's list enjoyed it...
