pick one: sleep or graduation.

Man, I hate registration. More specifically, I hate coming up with a schedule that somehow fulfills my requirements for graduation but doesn't bore me to death. Also, just once, I would like a semester where I don't have class before 11:00 AM. I am really not a morning person.

Right now I am trying to juggle some of my "core credits" and potentially ( Read more... )

Have you read Sharp Teeth by Tobey Barlow? It's a werewolf story, sort of, except it is fucking gorgeous and told in free-verse poetry and just. jfdkfjs. Everyone should read it, okay, even if that's not your usual thing. fact // he knows that it's impossible to tell a wolf / from a man if / he keeps his chin up / and his teeth clean.

Earlier this year I read Christopher Moore's Lamb, which is a retelling of the Bible, sort of, through the perspective of Christ's childhood friend Biff. THERE ARE YETIS AND MONKS AND IT IS THE MOST FUCKING HYSTERICAL, WONDERFUL BOOK I'VE EVER COME ACROSS. Fool by the same author is also aces; it's a retelling of King Lear.

Umm. I could talk forever about this stuff but here is what I read so far this year. If anything had an A, I would most likely recommend it, but feel free to ask me about any of it.

Wow, sorry it took me forever to reply to you. Sharp Teeth sounds amazing! I'll definitely look into it.

Hahaha, I read Lamb a couple years ago. It's amazing. I've heard good things about Fool as well. Thanks for the link! You have fabulous taste in books.

I read the Hunger Games series...it was pretty intense. You might like it. :D Snowcrash sounds good! Firefly is actually a show, lol--it's my favorite kind of sci-fi--no laser guns or aliens, but set in space and more focused on the people. You would really like Firefly, I think. If you ever need TV to watch, it's a really lovely show--only fourteen episodes, plus a movie.
