long-distance relationships vs those in close proximity... in a long-distance relationship, there is more information exchange. you learn more about the other person. in relationships where you spend a lot of physical time together, less time is spent on information exchange, more time is spent doing activities, such as hanging out with friends, ( Read more... )

I don't have all that much experience in either situation, but I'm pretty sure in both cases I always prefer to engage in information-exchange (or what I think you mean by that) to most other activities when I'm with someone. For me, the difference would be more in how that happens (i.e, chat/skype/whatever vs in-person).

I'm pretty sure I'm not the best example of typical relationship behavior, but I thought I'd add that regardless.
