Her name is Ute Lemper, not Uta.

Was the NO due to a spelling mistake? Because if I had spelt it right you wouldn't have had the oppurtunity to punctuate and feel superior.

-the living end were the first band i ever saw live. they opened for green day. they're pretty mediocre, sho nuff.
-deep forest? really?
-i'm in the camp that likes joanna newsom. i think this is proof that she's one of the most gorgeous women on earth.
-BABY ELEPHANT WALK
-have you heard anything off of beck's Stereopathetic Soul Manure or One Foot in the Grave? the latter was produced by Calvin Johnson, and they're both really good.

that said, listen to:
Ennio Morricone
Patti Smith (you probably do already, but Horses, seriously)
Fela Kuti
Rita Lee
Operation Ivy
X
Simply Saucer
and maybe a few black people. they make music sometimes.

Anyway, hope those recommendations helped.

I think 'the living end' have gone downhill a little in recent years - much like greenday, but they used to be very polital punk with such lyrics as 'uncle harry pissing in the bath, whoh-ohhh, pissing in the bath'.

Deep forest was one of the first CD's I that I bought and my love of music began.

I saw Joanna and SMOG together last year - they were both beautiful.

Every one in my composition class went mad for Mancini.

No one understands why I don't like beck, I don't understand why anyone likes him. I don't think i'll ever change it's such an effort to try to listen for me.

I do like some Ennio Morricone and love Patti Smith - the rest I don't think I know

Thanx for the suggestions - I am making my way through them, I am glad to have not been accepted as you seem the only nice one here. I could have been a major wanker and written an insanely underground indie list that could have gotten me accepted which I am sure most everyone in this com did, but i thought i would be honest.

Maybe someone should point out to the people in this community that they will never have as much success as even the people on their 5 worst list and those already over 20 will basically have no musical success at all.

eh, don't even worry about it. this community is dead, and i barely got accepted myself. this is the only one i've been accepted in. people never believe that i actually listen to the music that i say i listen to.

the thing is, you can't take anyone seriously. everyone's just fucking around. they're just really really passionate about the music they like and don't like.

success?
whatever.

Just saying that they can bag on Radiohead as much as they want in here, but they will never be as good musically or be as loved and appreciated. I assume that these people in the com actually make music before they claim to have a higher and undisputable understanding of it.

I would never be able to spell her last name. I don't think anything on my list is anything like her, but she seems a nice girl her music just isn't the kind of beautiful that I like.
