Despite being stood up for a packet of plasters and a plumber (!), have had a rather marvellous day, well, adequate sleeping in, reading more Jefferies, drinking fine tea, eating fine plaice at Mock Turtle, naturally, purchasing fine tea at Eikonclast, a 'lifestyle' shop with a lousy name, exquisite (well to somebody) fripperies, and very FINE and ( Read more... )

Sorry about that. I was utterly defeated by DIY in the shape of nasty snot-green tiles. I levered the last one off at about 4 pm, then had to clear the bathroom, which was knee deep in ceramic shards.

Anyway, enough excuses! Actually, come to think of it, there are never enough to go round...

Tip of the week...If you are tempted by a new low budget British 'sure to be a cult' film called Soul Searcher, dinnae fash yerself about bothering with the wee celluloid beastie....
Better than many a recent hollywood biliousness it may be, but still a yawn...
I shall be sticking with my Rumpole of the Bailey...
