Afterdark Horrorfest is a good idea. Give a bunch of indy producers/directors a chance to strut their stuff and bring us new, unusual, unique, and creative movies that would not normally see the light of a projector

that would be great ... I'd see it, course I love horror movies ... even the comedy that is bad horror (though the bird flu one that you posted about doesn't even seem like it has a chance of being in the "so bad it's funny" category)

Speaking of writing, are either of you doing nanowrimo this year? I've failed to think about it for the last few years, but I figure since I'm not working at the moment, I'd have all the time in the world to write.
