Plasma Donating

I donated plasma today - well, sold is more like it. What an interesting experience. Unlike just giving blood, the machine separates the red cells from plasma and actually puts the cells back in your body

you can donate plasma much more often the blood. I think the minimum time between donations is 8 weeks for blood but only 4 for plasma. I think its called pheresis (plasma donation. Apparently your body reproduces the plasma wayyyyyyy quicker then it creates new blood. Don't know if you know anything about it but plasma is super duper important for cancer patients undergoing chemo and I think lukemia patients too.

So giving plasma makes you the man everybody wants to know. I am surprised they pay, guess they must be desperate where you are. My dad is a 10 gallon donor or something, he gives blood like every 2 months. Or he did until they discovered he could give plasma and was a rare blood type. or something. SO since then he jsut does that and they love him for it.

I don't think you'll ahve nearly as much trouble to go thru next time, and if they're gonna pay you, why the hell not? My dad does it for free!
