January O6 :: Loyalty lost

No man can forever depend on the loyality or defense of any animal.

Tonight was uncharacteristically hectic. After both of my cats Cornflakes and Sebastian were neutered there were several occurances where if someone backed into Cornflakes, or if he happened to be in the crossfire of someone in a rush, he'd let out a yelp, and in a blaze of claws ( Read more... )

I had a cat that used to do that. We just dealt with it - but nobody was ever seriously hurt. The most that happened was he scratched my mom's arm all the way up it. I usually just jumped on top of my bed or a couch or something and he didn't come up there. But we eventually put him to sleep, but I think it was just because he was sick.

So I don't know what you should do.

Wow, thanks for replying. I think my cat may be sick. He broke his claw on the christmas tree two years ago, and went ballistic, but it was around the time that he was neutered so we thought once those two problems were solved so would his behavorial problem. Putting him to sleep is an option, and if it doesn't get better we'll have to, even if he is just sick, because he can't just attack people because of his pain, and I keep alot of company in my house at any given time. Catering to his mood is not as important as keeping my friends and family from getting scratched up (it's a scary thing, as you know). So thanks for replying -- at least I know I'm not the only one who's had this problem.
