Wow, so this is strange, isn't it?  I'm actually writing in LJ.  It's been far too long, and although I do talk to most of you on a regular basis, some of you I don't speak to very often.  So to make this short and sweet, I start working on Monday.  And it's going to suck.  I have to use a suck ass program, I have to do shit that I have no idea how

Bill, it's time for me to give you the most important piece of wisdom I can grant any mortal being.

Work sucks. It will always suck.
It doesn't matter how much they pay, for it will not be enough.
The hours, while long and tedious, will suck.
the coffee will be cold, but it will taste awful.
Your coworkers, while sucking, will also annoy you.
You boss isn't an ape as first appearances would tell you.
He is merely the shit the ape lobbed at the office.
Work sucks, but that's why they pay you to do it.

Ah but see, Derek, the wisdom granted is not always true, for there is some work I would not mind doing. Working on designing a house, for instance, would not be bad work. Even taking it as far to say designing a commercial building, would not be bad work. Working in AutoCAD, would also, not be bad work. But to sit and have to work on MicroStation, that is bad work. To design electrical systems, is bad work. Now granted, electrical plans for houses and buildings is a different case, for there is a difference between an electrical plan and an electrical system. And now, I must finish getting ready, for I must leave my house in about 5 minutes to start work. Gag me.
