Accidents will happen...but why to me?

Right now, I'm at a moment in my life where I feel I may have just given up a lot of my freedoms and pleasures just for one irresponsible night.  A night that I can't even remember.  I find it to be truly frightening and depressing.  I'm getting conflicting stories on what really happened and it makes my head spin.  The officer tells me one thing

What happened was crazy and you can't even start to explain it. I am so thankful that nothing happened to two of my best friends. And I don't even want to think about if something did happen. Your world is not ruined and it will be hard, but you will get through it. You just hit a bump in your road (literally) and don't worry we will all help you get through it. Thats what friends are for. Kristin, people make mistakes, and this was a huge mistake that you really couldn't have avoided. I mean, maybe you could've, but it was in no way intentional. Please let me know if I can do anything. If you even need to someone to talk to please call me. In the mean time, I will see you tomorrow and we can talk more. I love you!!!

I got into a bit of a car accident a couple of weeks ago. Alcohol may have been involved. I totaled my car. I also have no idea what happened. Heh. Bad.
